If you were looking for a vet for your dog or cat, keep on looking. We have brought five of our animals over the past 22 years to Poland Vet Centre. Unfortunately, Dr. Wolfe took care of our beloved Yorkie in November. She misdiagnosed him with pancreatitis after he became lethargic and was not eating. He has been diabetic for the past few years and lost his vision as a result. We continued to call Poland vet over the course of eight days voicing our concerns that he still seemed restless and lethargic. We told the office we felt something else was going on and things did not seem right. They continued to tell us if our dog was eating and drinking they did not need to see him. They told us if we felt it was getting worse we should bring him to med vet in Akron. After going to Poland vet for over 22 years our hope was that they would agree to look at our beloved dog again, they did not. Making the drive to Akron would be traumatic for a dog who is blind and has anxiety when in the car. After several days we got an appointment at med vet in Akron. After a few hours and several test it was determined that there was NO evidence of pancreatitis and that his pain and discomfort were due to a vertebrae that had been worn away. They also saw a mass in that area. The vet In Poland noted that our dog had lost a couple of pounds in a short time. This should have been a red flag for more test and looking Into his condition. Our beloved Carson had to be put down. When I confronted Dr. Wolfe she argued with me and her bedside manner was one of the worst I have ever encountered. There was no compassion whatsoever. Cold-hearted and callous are words best used to describe her. Do yourself a favor and avoid them at all costs, I wish we had. Our dog suffered for days due to their negligence.
