I would like to introduce you to The Whole Horse Veterinary Clinic and Center for Equine Rehabilitation. This facility is owned and operated by Lu Ann Groves DVM. The center offers the best of both conventional and complementary medicine to evaluate and treat horses of all breeds and disciplines. The most unique therapy option that is offered at The Whole Horse Clinic is the AquaPacer equine treadmill. The AquaPacer allows for individualized treatment plans based on each horse specific needs and/or weaknesses. The AquaPacer has Plexiglas windows that allow us to observe the horses’ motions, and also make adjustments to the water depth to optimize the treatment. Unlike a pool, the AquaPacer allows the horse to walk with his head in a normal position and his back lifted. This in return works the muscles that will improve the overall posture and balance. Listed below are some of the most beneficial aspects we have discovered with using the AquaPacer.1. Impact can be minimized to rehabilitate tendon/ligament injuries.2. Improves the horses overall performance.3. Increases the suppleness and flexibility.4. Increases the horses’ endurance, speed, and strength.5. Increases bone density and circulation.6.
